Before contacting our support team about programs that aren’t running correctly or at all, please note the following points:
Despite careful and extensive testing prior to release, we can unfortunately never fully guarantee that a program will run, or run correctly, on all computers and computer configurations. This is generally not due to poorly developed software, but is an effect of the many tools used for system optimization nowadays, as well as virus scanners, firewalls and burning software, which unfortunately bring both benefits and difficulties. Additionally, the variety of system and hardware components on any given computer may be responsible for a software program not running smoothly. Unfortunately, it is not possible for developers to take into account all the different variations of hardware and software configurations.
Before installing a software program, please close all other open programs. This includes virus scanners and firewall programs. This way you will avoid conflicts during the installation. After installation, these programs should then of course be reactivated. Following a successful installation, you should check whether updates are available for the installed program, even if you have only just purchased it. Updates and patches can be found on the page of the game in question on our website. Many programs also have an option to start an automatic online search for updates and patches.
If a program won't install or won't start after installation, please double check that your computer meets the minimum system requirements without exception. If one of these system requirements is not fulfilled, the program cannot be considered suitable for the system in question. Processor performance, the size of the RAM and graphics memory, and the operating system you are using are of particular importance.
One of the most common reasons for a program not running smoothly is outdated graphics drivers. These should be updated at least every 6 months. Even if you have purchased your system recently, it is now often the case that one cannot assume that the system's drivers are up to date at the time of purchase. In addition to the graphics drivers, you should also check that the drivers for the sound card and the built-in motherboard are up to date, as well as any other components connected to the system. The latest drivers can usually be found on the hardware manufacturers' websites.
In addition to hardware drivers, you should also ensure that you have installed the required version of DirectX. This can usually be found on the disk containing the program. Current versions of DirectX can also be found in the support section of your operating system's supplier.
If you are still experiencing display problems despite up-to-date graphics drivers and a suitable graphics card, please make sure that your color depth is set to 32 Bit and adjust the resolution to a lower setting such as 1280x1024, 1024x768 or 800x600.
Even after installation, conflicts with anti-virus and firewall software may unfortunately still occur. Where necessary, configure these manually with regard to the affected program, so as to grant the program the necessary access rights to other system components.
For customers whose disks have obvious technical defects, we offer free support at the following email address:
